This project was a labor of love. It took around 6 months to build using parts from many different places, including a slide projector, computer, telescope, and as many flashlights and lasers as we could fit. Many of the items were picked up online for low cost. Using parts intended for other uses usually lets you keep the cost down, mainly because the cost was the determining factor and not the fit or its use. The base of the gun is a stock Nerf Rapidstrike, but that is where the normal ends. This gun is basically an exaggeration of accessories, which was the whole point of the project. I wanted to see how many lights/lasers and other things I could respectively get on the gun and still be able to carry it.

The “Modding” hobby is one and easy is easy to relate too. Some people modify cars, some guns, lawnmowers, bicycles, etc. etc. etc. Just about anything you see, somewhere, someone, probably used it in a project to build something. It is a satisfying feeling to take a bunch of stuff which may or may not have a purpose and mash it all together into something you can call your own.

Six flash lights, five red lasers and heap load of batteries. Some of these are combination light/lasers and some are on paddle switches. But needless to say enough of ether to accomplish the goal. The weight on the gun 14.8 lbs or 6.71 kilos which doesn’t sound like much, but try holding a 15 lb. dumbbell on your should for a few minutes. You will get the idea. There was a fair amount of machining to do because the majority of the accessories were not intended for this purpose. So we made brackets and spacers and some other doohickeys. Some where made from aluminum, others 3D Printed, using whichever method for what worked the best for that application.
